Relax and Rejuvenate at Waterside Getaway Private Cottage/Chalet

Welcome to Waterside Getaway.  This is a fully renovated and cheerfully decorated cottage/chalet on the east shores of Lac Achigan.  Just steps from the cottage is our private dock which reaches out onto the crystal-clear waters of the lake.  Here you can enjoy the view, bask in the sun, or go fishing.

Things are set up and situated to awaken your senses, relaxing your mind, body and soul. The mood and vibe allows you to be intimate, if you wish, or tell stories over a sociable group meal. In this place you can do both. There are lots of tasteful details all over the cottage for you to discover! It is a very personalized place with both practical and whimsical details.

Our 4-season cottage feels and looks like a cottage should. The spaces it provides are comfortably intimate. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen so you can cook up and serve simple or gourmet meals to suit your tastes and requirements. There is a comfortable seating area in the kitchen as well as a full dining room setup a with full view of Lac Achigan.

The cottage faces west and has a panoramic view of Lac Achigan and the scenic Gatineau Hills beyond. Sunsets fill the cottage with warm late-day light and the anticipation of pleasures which the evening brings. The cottage has plenty of windows so you can enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. You will also enjoy the wrap-around deck which faces beautiful Lac Achigan. There are plenty of trees on the site and the hills around are fully forested.

You can enjoy your breakfast outdoors just footsteps from the lake’s edge, before dipping into the lake for a refreshing early morning swim. Come back later to relax or suntan on the dock. Once you arrive, you will not want to leave!

You can also enjoy an afternoon fishing off the dock and you’re welcome to kayak or canoe. In winter, you are on the doorstep of the Nations Capital's premier cross country ski trail (Nakkertok), and only 15 minutes from Edelweiss and Mont Cascades for downhill skiing. Golf is nearby as well as the beautiful Gatineau park!

The cottage is located near the villages of Perkins and Wakefield which include grocery stores, a butcher, hardware store, pharmacy and restaurant/bars. It is close to local golf courses, horseback riding, Camp Fortune and the La Fleche caves and aerial park. The Outaouais and West Quebec areas are rich in historic, cultural, and linguistic diversity. This region boasts some of best year-round outdoor lifestyles and entertainment activities in the world such as skiing, cycling, hiking and more! We will provide you with lots of options to consider prior to your stay.

Further afield you have all the many attractions of the National Capital Area including the many museums, the National Art Gallery, the NAC, and the various Ottawa area locales such as the Byward Market, the Glebe and the NCC Gatineau Park.
